Why I Show Black Representation in Art?

My drawings focus more on black representation in order to keep BLM alive. What I mean by this is, the society we live in is ever-changing, there is always something new and something trendy and usually old topics are the first to be forgotten within a week. In my opinion, that is how the BLM movement was treated. And I believe social media plays a huge role on how we as a society should feel and think.

When BLM was trending, it was the first time we as a society united to fight against discrimination and racism black people have endured. But when BLM died down, old patterns including microagressions, racial slurs, and even huge politcal arguments such as the Meghan Markle accusations resurfaced.
So the reason why my art mostly focuses on Black Representation is because I do not want Black People to be forgotten. I want to be one of the Black creatives that show, we as Black people are capable of succeeding and winning by ourselves and not depending on others with more privilege to help us by.
You can not follow someone else's dream and copy every move they make and hope for their results. You can not depend on others for your success. Your success depends on the amount of work you are putting in to make it happen.
